Microstructure Evolution and Tempering Transformation Kinetics in a Secondary Hardened M50 Steel Subjected to Cold Ring Rolling

چکیده
The microstructure evolution and tempering transformation kinetics of the M50 steel subjected to cold ring rolling (CRR) have been investigated. results indicate that brass R{110}<110> texture is weakened with enhancement <111>//ND during CRR. Due increased low angle boundaries by CRR, Ac1 temperature decreases while carbon content volume fraction RA increase. During tempering, activation energy atoms segregation transition carbide precipitation decrease, retained austenite (RA) decomposition increases after kinetic analysis shows CRR beneficial beginning tempering. Then, leads delay onset precipitation, but whole reaction time, which has verified transmission electron microscopy (TEM) hardness results. lagging in early stage caused trapping atoms, higher nucleation rate responsible for enhanced later stage. For cementite formation, there are no significant changes predictive applied However, inhibited attributed smaller grain size RA. Additionally, alloy carbides also process secondary hardening.

Finally, all of them were fu...
متن کاملStrain-Induced Martensite Transformation Simulations during Cold Rolling of AISI 301 Austenitic Stainless Steel
Austenite is a semi-stable phase in most stainless steels that deforms to martensite under Md30 and forms martensitetype ά and ε due to the deformation in the steels. Since the distribution of strain induced martensite plays animportant role in achieving desired properties, the main objective of the present work is to model martensitedistribution of ά during cold rolling using...

متن کاملEffect of Tempering Temperature on Mechanical Properties and Microstructure of Sinter Hardened Materials
Sinter hardening enables the production of P/M parts with high strength and apparent hardness after sintering, eliminating the need for a post sintering heat treatment. The availability of sintering furnaces with improved cooling capacity combined with the development of low alloy steel powders specifically designed for sinter hardening make this process particularly attractive for parts that a...
